British runner Hannah Nuttall

Hannah Nuttall is a talented British runner specializing in middle-distance and cross-country events. In 2024, she achieved the title of British champion in the 5,000m. Her biggest achievement is winning the gold at the 2021 Dublin European Cross Country champion.

Hannah Nuttall was born on July 7, 1997. She began her athletic journey as a young runner with the Charnwood Athletics Club. Hannah Nuttall later pursued her education at Loughborough College, where she had the opportunity to represent Great Britain for the first time at the 2015 Junior World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Hannah is a qualified nutritionist who studied at the University of New Mexico and earned her master’s degree from Loughborough University.

Hannah Nuttall started her competitive athletics career already 15 years old in 2012, winning the 1,500m silver at the Tamworth National Junior Athletic League and Leicester Leicestershire U17 Meeting, as well as the 1,500m gold at the Derby National Junior Athletics League and Stoke National Junior Athletic League.

During the next seasons, Hannah Nuttall continue competing in students’ leagues and meetings, recording significant success, winning the 1,500m bronze at the Birmingham English Schools Championships and Loughborough Students AC Open in 2013, as well as 1,500m and 800m gold medals at the Derby UK Youth Development in 2014.

In 2015, Hannah Nuttall made her debut at the national championships, finishing 8th in 3,000m at the Sheffield UK Indoor Championships. Meanwhile, during the season, she made her international debut at the 41st IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China, but finished only 32nd.

During the years she continue competing in middle and long distances. In 2018, she won the silver at the Boston Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Mile Short Track, as well as the silver at the Sheffield BUCS Indoor Championships in 3,000m. During the next season, she competed at the 26th SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lisboa, Portugal, finishing 31st.

In 2020, Hannah Nuttall won her first national honor, finishing third at the Manchester British Championships in 3,000m steeplechase. Meanwhile, she won the 3,000m gold at the BMC Gold Standard Races.

Hannah Nuttall made her biggest achievement so far in 2021, winning the gold at the 27th SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

She continue competing at high level during the 2022 season, winning the 1,500m silver at the BMC Sheffield Indoor Grand Prix and finishing 4th in 1,500m at the prestigious British Milers Club International Grand Prix and Muller UK Athletics Championships. At the Morton Games, Hannah Nuttall won the bronze in one mile run, while at the 58. Palio Citta  della Quercia finished 11th in 3,000m.

In 2023, Hannah Nuttall made another significant achievement in her career, winning the 5,000m silver at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships First Division. Meanwhile, she finished 5th at the Istanbul European Athletics Indoor Championships in 3,000m and earned another national medal at the Birmingham UK Indoor Championships, finishing second in 3,000m.

Hannah Nuttall had another successful season in 2024, winning the 5,000m gold at the Copenhagen Athletics Game and Gouden Spike, as well as the 3,000m bronze at the Grand Prix Lombardia – Brescia 2024, and the 3,000 bronze at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix. Meanwhile, she earned the 1,500m gold at the British Milers Club Grand Prix and made her debut in the Diamond League at the Herculis Meeting International d’Athletisme EBS in Monaco, finishing 14th in 5,000m. During the season, she won her first national title, triumphing with the gold in 5,000m at Manchester UK Championships, but also competed at Roma European Athletics Championships and Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships, finishing 10th and 12th, respectively.
